Frequently Asked Questions
Unlike traditional parties that focus on ideology and “big politics,” ACSA is a movement of residents specifically focused on Active Citizenship. We prioritize technical skills and community involvement over political seniority. Our leaders are local residents—engineers, activists, and entrepreneurs—who live in the same wards they serve. Our primary goal is not just to win seats, but to restore basic service delivery and human dignity to the Vaal through professional governance.
It means moving away from “jobs for friends” and shifting toward merit-based appointments. We have a professional 10-Point Plan that addresses the root causes of the Vaal’s collapse, such as illegal sewage flow, inaccurate billing, and crumbling roads. We don’t just wait for municipal budgets; we mobilize local “Waste Soldiers” and “Pothole Agents” to take direct action in our neighborhoods today, proving that a self-sustainable community is possible.
ACSA is built for you. You don’t need to be “political” to want clean water, working streetlights, and safe roads. You can join as a volunteer by signing our Oath of Volunteerism, which focuses on serving the community without any intention of material gain. Whether you have technical skills to share or just want to help clean up your local park, there is a place for every active citizen to contribute to the rescue of our municipality.
Our plan is designed to provide immediate relief to households crushed by inaccurate municipal billing. ACSA proposes a 100% write-off of all historical municipal debt for residents. To ensure this is sustainable, we will simultaneously install prepaid electricity and water meters in every home, allowing families to manage their consumption without the fear of hidden costs or mounting interest.
We believe that protecting the vulnerable should be automatic, not a bureaucratic nightmare. Under ACSA’s plan, every property valued below R700,000 will be automatically deemed indigent. This means those households will not need to go through long application processes to receive basic service support. We want to ensure that those who cannot afford basic services are protected by a caring, responsive government.
Security and transparency are our top priorities. We are partnering with local CPFs, neighborhood watches, and religious organizations to oversee community safety. Furthermore, we are ending “Cadre Deployment” by hiring only qualified local professionals and youth based on merit, not political connections. By institutionalizing strict financial controls in areas prone to corruption, we ensure that every cent is spent on the streets of the Vaal, not in the pockets of “Kingpins.”
